BCR Statement On Israel

On October 7, 2023, the radical militant terrorist group Hamas launched an unprovoked attack at sunrise against peaceful and innocent Israeli civilians at the start of the Jewish holidays Shabbat and Shemini Atzeret. Video, eyewitness reports and aftermath of this barbaric attack were sickening and inhumane, leaving over 1400 Israelis killed.

The atrocities included the torture and murder of entire families including children. This was the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust of World War II. The barbaric violence that occurred on October 7th cannot be justified, accepted, denied or ignored. Israel has a right to peace and a right to defend itself, as well as its survival against hostile and horrific violence. There is no defending what happened to the people of Israel.

The Boulder County Republicans condemn the atrocities committed by Hamas and stand with Israel and its people and pray for peace to return to the Middle East. Am Yisrael Chai.
