2025 Races

Boulder County

Both Claire Levi (Dist. 1) and Marty Loachamin (Dist. 2)  have terms that expire in 2029. Ashly Stozmann’s term (Dist. 3) expires in 2026.

The District Attorney, Michael Dougherty’s term expires in 2026

The Clerk and Recorder, Molly Fitzpatrick, term expires in 2026

The County Assessor, Cynthia Braddock’s term expires in 2027

The County Coroner, Jeff Martin, was elected in 2023, for a four year term ?

The Sheriff, Curtis Johnson, was elected in 2023 for a four year term.

County Surveyor, Lee Stadele, Not sure about when he began his term.

County Treasurer, Paul Weissmann, began is in his last term, which will expire in 2026

City of Boulder

There are four seats up for the November election:  

·      Matt Benjamin

·      Lauren Folkerts Mayor Pro-tem

·      Nicole Speer

·      Mark Wallach

The mayoral election will not be held until 2026.

Candidates for City County cannot begin campaigning until August 5.

Requirements for City Council:

·      Fill out your candidate form online. The City Clerk will verify the candidate eligibility.

·      Take an oath administered by the Clerk (by appointment).

·      Obtain your candidate petition forms from the Clerk.

·      Get 25-35 signatures

·      Return forms to municipal building no later than 5PM, August 25.

Municipal Initiatives:

·      Set up a committee of 5 voters as the petition committee. This can be done any time at: cityclerksoffice@bouldercolorado.gov.

·      Submit a request to the Clerk using an Intent to Submit form available at the voting and election information website shown above.

·      Submit the form to the City Clerk : cityclerksoffice@bouldercolorado.gov

·      The Clerk has 10 days to review the petition and either approve or reject the petition.

·      Collect 3401 valid signatures

·      Return them to the Clerk Office no later than Wednesday, May 28. This requires an separate appointment for submission, which will take ~ 2 hours.

 

Longmont City Council

There are four council seats up in 2025

Nederland

The town of Nederland has a seven member board of trustees (6 members and one mayor). Each trustee serves for a four-year term, except the mayor serves for a 2 year term.

None of the board seats are up for the 2025 election. Four are up in 2026 and three are up in 2028.

Erie

The town is governed by a town council. The town website is under construction and many pages are blank right now. Kelsy Hansen is the Town Clerk. Her number is 303-926-2700.

There are no opening for town council on the ballot in 2025

City of Louisville

The city council has a mayor (elected for a 4 year term). There are three wards and each has two members, all for a 4 year term. So, we are talking about 7 members, There are three openings for the 2025 election.

There is a town council for Superior. The town clerk is Shannon Duchardine (sp?). Her number is 303-433-3675. There are no openings in 2025.
